2020 SOVAS Voice Arts Awards Nomination
Got some great news last night, and I’m really glad I didn’t think the email was spam: my narration demo that I submitted for consideration was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in the Outstanding Narration Demo (TV/Film) - Best Voiceover category. This will be the 7th year that the Society for Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) has run the event.
So, yeah, that happened.
The event, usually held in New York City, will be live-streamed this year due to COVID-19 on December 6th. No details yet as to the exact time and where it will be streamed, but as soon as I know I’ll post on my social channels.
The only details I know of the event so far are that Mark Hamill (Star Wars, Batman: The Animated Series, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) will be receiving the Voice Arts Icon Award this year and Henry Louis Gates, Jr (Finding Your Roots) will be receiving the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity honor.
Honestly, I won’t be at all disappointed if I don’t win. I forgot that I even sent anything in for consideration (because, you know, 2020), so just getting nominated is pretty stellar.
Still…fingers crossed.
