Guess Who's Narrating The SERRAted Edge Series?

Spoiler: it me!

I mentioned in previous posts that I had been tapped to narrated some Mercedes Lackey’s high urban fantasy of elves and hot rods series already; the audiobook of Born to Run is already available, and Wheels of Fire is in post-production now. I’m currently recording for Book 3, When The Bough Breaks.

But! I received word from the audiobook publisher that I’ll be the voice of this entire series! The plan is to get two more books recorded this year, Chrome Circle and Silence, and to tackle the rest of the series in 2021.

The series was originally published in the early 90s and appears to have been aimed at middle school-aged kids. I don’t know if it was ever on my radar then (I think I blocked most of middle school out of my memory, it was a miserable time), though it may have been.

I was just starting to read a lot of fantasy then. The two series I remember were The Pit Dragon Chronicles by Jane Yolen and another duology with Talents (with a capital “T”) and demons and I just can’t seem to find the names of the books…but I liked them.

These were graduations from the Narnia series I read starting in 5th grade, and a prelude to tackling The Wheel of Time after high school. I was also mixing in a fair bit of older fiction, such as the Tom Swift, Jr series, as well as George Orwell’s 1984. (I maintain that 1984 should be required reading.)

At any rate, I hope that I’m doing this series justice for the folks who may have been fans when the series first published, and I’m grateful for this opportunity.
