No rest for the wicked...
…and I do enjoy voicing a villain…
Though I doubt there will be a need for a truly dastardly villain for Gene Luke’s newest book, Pilgrim of Fate. The first book I produced for him, The Artisan, was the first one that moved me to tears while narrating. I can’t wait to see what this one has in store. It seems a little more comical in tone, so it should be fun. He’s a very impassioned yet subtle writer, and I love working on his stuff.
Black Mirror, the fourth book in the Ethan Drake dark urban fantasy series, just wrapped production earlier this week, and hopefully will be available through Audible and iTunes in a few weeks. (ACX has been pretty backed up between the pandemic and more books hitting the shelves with everyone staying at home and writing that book they always wanted to.)
On that note of more people writing, I recently added a video interview to the Indy Writer Audiobook Production Guide where I interviewed Alex Hillman, one of the Indy Hall co-founders and author of The Tiny MBA. He made the decision to pull the eBook from Amazon on release day due to some customer service issues. We also talk about the importance of growing an audience and community to book sales. Check out the interview here.
Still on the docket are the latest book of Shami Stovall’s award-winning and best-selling Frith Chronicles, World Serpent Arcanist. I legitimately can’t wait to get started on this project. The characters are so much fun to get into, and she has some great villains. I’ll post some clips on my Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as my YouTube channel, as production begins.
Also is a part in a collaborative storytelling effort for the audiobook version of Alpha Enigma. I won’t go into my roll just as of yet, as production hasn’t started yet, but it should be a ton of fun.
My novel, Gravity, is on hold for the moment for no other reason other than I’ve just been too busy to continue revisions. I got some great feedback from an author friend, and I’ll definitely need to start taking a hammer to some of the prose to get it into shape, but I still have every intention of publishing by the end of the year. (You know what they say about intentions, though…)
